Miss ConteHello! My name is Madeline Conte and I am a 1st grade teacher here at Westtown Thornbury Elementary. I graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania with my elementary education degree/reading minor in 2018. (Fun fact - I completed my student teaching here at WTE in first grade with my mentor - now grade level partner - Nancy Wein!) I worked as a regular ed paraprofessional at Skippack Elementary in the Perkiomen Valley School District, a 1st grade long term substitute at Quakertown Elementary in the Quakertown Community School District and a 4th grade long term substitute at Penn Wood Elementary here in the West Chester Area School District. This is my third year teaching 1st grade here at WTE. Teaching is my passion and I have always had a special place in my heart for 1st grade!
Teaching students how to read is one of my favorite things about 1st grade. I am currently working towards my masters in literacy at WCU. I love to take what I learn in my courses and implement it into my very own classroom! When I am not teaching, you can find me in my happy place - the beach! I also love exploring local coffee shops, playing tennis and spending time with family/friends. My goal is to create a welcoming classroom environment where students love to learn. I am looking forward to an awesome school year! Keep up with class happenings and follow me on Twitter: @missmaddie18 |
